Founded in 1886, the Minneapolis College of Art and Design is an independent, accredited institution with 13 BFA degree programs in Fine Arts, Media Arts, and Design, as well as an established MFA program. Dedicated to the success of each and every one of its 720 degree-seeking students, MCAD is also an important member of the Twin Cities' thriving cultural community, extending educational and professional opportunities far beyond the school's campus. MCAD's Advertising program is unique both for its focus on creative direction and its foundation in the studio learning experience.
Position Description:
The successful applicant will assume an exciting mix of roles. Besides teaching in the program, the Coordinator also advises Advertising students and hires other instructors, while maintaining a network of industry professionals. Reporting to the Chair of the Bachelor of Science Program, the successful applicant will assume a true position of leadership in the Advertising area, with opportunities to shape curriculum, external partnerships, and student outcomes. This is a one year contract position with possibility of renewal.
Qualifications:
Applicants should have a solid record of achievement both as a professional in the field of advertising and college-level instructor. Masters degree a plus. The ideal candidate will be familiar with contemporary advertising methods, techniques, and concepts, especially digital-based systems.
