Public Safety Officer/Administrative Support Public Safety Office The Minneapolis College of Art and Design has an immediate opening for a full-time Public Safety Officer/Administrative Support in our Public Safety Office, working 40 hours per week on 1st shift (7:00 am - 3:00 pm, Sunday through Thursday). We enjoy a dynamic work environment, which includes outstanding vacation and holiday time accruals. Starting wage based on experience, between $12.25-$13.50/hour. Primary function is to provide a safe and secure campus environment by protecting life and property, preventing and responding to crimes, operating the communications center, and assisting the college community by responding to requests of service. Provide administrative and clerical assistance for the Public Safety Office so that the daily office functions are accomplished and customers and officers are served in an efficient manner. All duties will be carried out in accordance with local, state and federal laws, as well as college policies.
Qualifications include: High school diploma, or equivalent, required; Associates Degree in related field, preferred. Previous experience in college security a plus; general security experience, preferred. Understanding of law enforcement and the key issues that impact a security officer. Must possess excellent written and oral communication and customer service skills, as well as interpersonal skills. Must have ability to prioritize when dealing with multiple high-priority situations. As a condition of employment, applicants will be required to undergo a background check. Must have valid driver’s license; satisfactory DMV check required.
